EPDM Roofing – Roof Replacement of Storage Barn – Kings Lynn

A nailed down old felt roof had blown off a storage barn during high winds leaving the original close boarded wooden framed roof exposed to the elements. The aged timber roof boards were showing signs of rot and an alternative roofing system that could handle the high weather exposure was requested. Proctor Roofing specified Rubberbond EPDM as this was a fully adhered roofing system that could stand up to the weather exposure and meet the budget of the client. The existing timber was sprayed and then over boarded with structural grade OSB board to give the strength back to the roof with a clean even surface to bond to.

New Housing Development – Kings Lynn

Proctor Roofing were successful in tendering for the slate and tile roofing project on this new build development in Kings Lynn. Breather Membrane and battens were used from the eaves to the ridge with the new tiles laid and the ridge tiles bed. Lead was then installed to the abutments and oiled upon completion all as per manufacturer’s specification.

Sea Life Centre – Hunstanton

Severe tidal floods had destroyed most of the original building and the main contractor was charged with rebuilding to match the original build. Proctor Roofing were contacted to specify and install a cost effective system that could be used in both the refurbishment and new build scenarios. Because of its robust, versatile nature and excellent bonding strength Resitrix SR by Carlise Construction Materials was chosen to stand up to the harshest of condition on the North Sea coastline.

Roof refurbishment of offices and canteen

A poorly installed previous coating had failed, peeling away and exposing the aged felt roofing system. This deterioration led to significant water ingress into the canteen below. Due to budget constraints, only the most severely affected section was addressed in Phase 1 of the project.

Proctor Roofing specified a 15-year 3M Skotchkote cold-applied liquid polyurethane overcoat system to restore the roof’s integrity. To ensure optimal adhesion, the remaining failed coating was mechanically removed, followed by a thorough power wash and priming of the surface. This preparation allowed for a high-bond application of the new liquid roofing system, delivering a durable and long-lasting waterproof solution.
